Lestrade had called you, John and Sherlock to his office to discuss, what he thought, was a difficult case. But after only a few minutes Sherlock solved it and told Lestrade it was obvious if only he would use his eyes. He then took your hand and guided you out of the office with John following behind. The three of you were making your way to the elevator when Sally Donovan walked over.
“Ugh why are you here?” she said looking at Sherlock.
“Lestrade wanted me to solve a case, seeing as you were obviously no help with it,” Sherlock said with a smirk.
“Well we can’t all be psychopaths now can we? Besides you aren’t as important as you think really. You’re just Lestrade’s pet freak,” she said harshly. There was that word again. Freak. You hated when she called Sherlock that, the way she spat the word at him with such malice and hate.
“You know Sally,” you said releasing Sherlock’s hand and stepping in front of her, “you really should stop calling people names.”
“Oh, really? Why ever should I do that?,” she said turning her attention towards you.
“It’s obvious isn’t it? Women that sleep with married men really should be the last ones throwing out insults,” you replied with a sarcastic smile as Donovan’s smirk faded away.
“Oh what and you think because of that you you’re above me? You think people like you better than me because of that?” she said glaring at you.
“I know it makes me better than you. I don’t sneak around at three in the morning with my ‘boyfriend’ while his wife is at work or sit up all night hoping my phone will ring. And if you hadn’t noticed people do like me better than you. I’d like to think it’s because of my sparkling personality,” you said still smiling.
“Pfft. You Americans are all the same,” she stated shaking her head at you.
“What? Cunningly clever with gorgeous looks and dripping with sarcasm?”
“Egotistic. You think the whole world belongs to you and you can take and do whatever you want.”
“Oh Donovan dear, is that jealously I detect?” You stepped closer to her and lowered your voice to almost a whisper.
“Are you jealous of me Donovan? Jealous that no matter how hard you tried you could never get him (nodding at Sherlock) to like you back because he could always see the terrible person you were? And then some foreign girl comes and takes what you think was supposed to be yours?” you said smiling and stepping back.
“And besides,” you continued raising your voice back to normal level, “what you call egotistic I call pride and self-respect. Something a person with knees like that obviously lacks….” you replied smirking at her.
After hearing that John gasped behind you and out of the corner of your eye you saw Sherlock smirking with pride. Donovan continued to scowl and was visibly trying to come up with a remark to say back but was unable to. Seeing this conversation was over you took Sherlock’s hand and John’s arm and continued to make your way out. After a couple of steps you heard someone following behind. You turned around to see Donovan throwing a punch at your face.
Before it actually landed though, you were able to block it and hold her arm by wrapping your arm around it (a move taught to you by John). You smirked and raised an eyebrow at Donovan while she stood in shocked silence. After a moment she balled her other hand into fist and death glared you.
“Don’t,” John said, “Just don’t Donovan. She’s already angry and she can do much more that just block a punch, trust me. (y/n) let her arm loose and let’s go.”
You smiled at Donovan and released her arm, raising both yours in a ‘surrendering’ gesture and walking back. Sherlock came up behind you and wrapped an arm around your waist and began leading you away. Donovan huffed and went stomping down the hallway back to her office.
“Now now (y/n) what was it you told me about playing nicely with others?” Sherlock said smiling down at you.
“Well first off there is nothing nice about her. And second off, no one gets to be mean to my sociopath except me.”
Sherlock laughed and looked down at you.
“Yes only you,” he said as he kissed the top of your head, “only you.”
“Ugh why are you here?” she said looking at Sherlock.

Apology - Sherlock x Reader
‘I’m home,’ you call up the stairs of 221B Baker Street.
You lugged the shopping bags with you until you finally reached the flat that you shared with your best friend John and his roommate, Sherlock. You’d been living with them for about 2 months now and you were never bored with the antics that were going on.
‘Thank god you’re back (y/n), I need to go out. Anywhere but here, just make sure he doesn’t blow the place up or something,’ John sighed as he indicated to Sherlock who was lying on the sofa curled up and facing the back of it. John threw his coat on, kissed your cheek and ran out the

You were wandering the alleys of London again. Given this was your territory, you had to make sure to protect it from outsiders. Especially since there was the strange tall man who would leave a saucer of milk out for you come evening.
When the tall, light sea eyed man started giving you milk, he had put something weird in it. Not foolish enough to test it head on, you either watched what happened to a creature drinking the milk (they usually died), or observed the man observing you. He was a colder fellow, not usually the one to express emotion. Thankfully he's smart enough to realize you weren't fooled by his initial tainted offerings. Fro

You adjusted the glasses on your nose and leaned in to look through the microscope again. Letting out a frustrated sigh, you pulled them off completely, microscopes are not particularly friendly to those with glasses and in truth you really only needed them when you were tired. The slide with blood came through clearly this time and you scribbled some notes on a pad next to you.
You were the top forensic blood spatter analyst in the UK and it kept you rather busy and alone most of the time. Honestly that was how you preferred it, the living were cruel and overly complex and the dead were quiet and, frankly, simple.
